Nashville, Tennessee…January 22, 2010….The Gibson Foundation, a proud corporate supporter of UNICEF, urges its many supporters to assist in the help of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF in an effort to bring much needed aid to Haiti and its victims of the devastating earthquake last week. MTV’s “Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief” telethon airing tonight at 8:00 p.m. EST will help benefit UNICEF. Organized by George Clooney and Wyclef Jean, the telethon will feature Justin Timberlake, Coldplay, Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen, Bono, The Edge and Jay-Z among many others. More than 100 stars have signed on to help raise funds for the MTV Networks-sponsored show, which will benefit the victims of last week’s devastating earthquake.
“Hope for Haiti Now” will be the most widely distributed telethon in history. The two-hour program will air commercial-free across a number of networks including ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, the CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT.
